In-Office Laser Procedures

Precision Laser Treatment Without the OR

Many common eye conditions can be treated with laser procedures performed right in our office — no hospital stay required. From glaucoma management to posterior capsule opacification after cataract surgery, our in-office laser treatments deliver precise, effective results with minimal recovery time.

At Golden View Ophthalmology, Dr. Eugenia White uses focused laser energy to address targeted eye conditions safely and comfortably — often in a single visit. Most patients return to normal activities the same day.

What to Expect

Quick Procedure

Most laser treatments are completed in under 15 minutes. You’ll be in and out of the office with minimal disruption to your day.

Comfortable Experience

Numbing drops are applied before treatment. There are no stitches, no incisions, and no need for sedation — just focused laser energy precisely where it’s needed.

Rapid Recovery

Resume normal activities the same day. You may experience mild light sensitivity or blurriness for a few hours, but most patients notice improvement quickly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Most patients experience little to no discomfort during in-office laser procedures. Numbing eye drops are applied before the treatment begins, and the procedure itself typically lasts only a few minutes. Some patients report a brief sensation of light or mild pressure, but pain is uncommon.

Results vary by procedure. YAG laser capsulotomy is a permanent, one-time treatment. SLT for glaucoma typically provides pressure-lowering benefit for 3–5 years and can be repeated if needed. LPI results are also long-lasting. Dr. White will explain the expected duration and follow-up plan specific to your treatment.

We recommend arranging a driver for your laser procedure appointment, particularly if dilating drops are used or if you anticipate any temporary blurriness afterward. We’ll let you know in advance what to expect for your specific procedure so you can plan accordingly.

Many conditions respond fully to a single laser session. Others, such as glaucoma managed with SLT, may require retreatment over time. During your consultation, Dr. White will outline the expected number of visits and what ongoing monitoring may be needed for your condition.

In-office laser procedures are generally very safe with a low risk of serious complications. Temporary side effects such as mild inflammation, light sensitivity, or a brief increase in eye pressure can occur. Dr. White will discuss the specific risk profile for your procedure and explain what warning signs to watch for after treatment.
